Fragments of Light
Overview
An abstract editorial built from shadow play and geometric staging
Fragments of Light studies how hard daylight carves architecture into shapes — and how a figure moving through those shapes becomes part of the composition. Shot over two afternoons in a concrete gallery space, the series strips fashion back to silhouette, line, and contrast, using a quiet architectural palette of bone white, graphite, and deep shadow.
The challenge was restraint: no set dressing, no retouching tricks, only timing. Each frame waits for the sun to place a single geometric fragment of light, then answers it with posture and stillness.
Approach
Timing over staging
Every setup was rehearsed without the model, then shot in a fifteen-minute window when the light completed the geometry. Movement direction stayed minimal — weight shifts, held breath, long stillness — so the shadow, not the pose, carries each frame.
Outcome
A quiet, widely shared series
The series anchored two editorial features and became the visual reference for three subsequent brand collaborations seeking the same restrained, architectural mood.
